Transferring and financial aid

The government transfers your Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA) information to other schools. It does not automatically transfer your financial aid award to other schools. Learn more about transferring and financial aid.

I am transferring to HACC. What should I do?

  1. List HACC's Federal School Code on your FAFSA. HACC's code is 003273.

Log into www.fafsa.gov using your PIN. Select "Add or Delete a School Code" to make changes online.

  1. Contact your current school's Financial Aid Office. 

Notify them that you are transferring to HACC. This will allow them to cancel your award. This enables HACC to access those funds.

  1. Contact your current school's Registration Office.

Request an official academic transcript. Request they send this transcript to HACC.

  1. Contact PHEAA'S State Grant Division.

Notify them that you are transferring to HACC. Go to www.aessuccess.org. Select "Account Access." Then select "State Grant." Update your school code to 003273.

I am transferring from HACC to another college. What should I do?

  1. List your new school's Federal School Code number on your FAFSA.

Log into www.fafsa.gov using your PIN. Select "Add or Delete a School Code" to make changes online.

  1. Contact HACC's Office of Financial Aid Services.

Notify HACC that you are transferring. HACC will cancel your financial aid. This will allow your transfer school to access those funds.

  1. Contact HACC'S Registration Office.

Request an official academic transcript. Ask HACC to send the transcript to your transfer school.

Notify them of your transfer institution. Go to www.aessuccess.org. Select "Account Access." Then select "State Grant." Update your school code.

  1. Contact your transfer school's Financial Aid Office.
