What is financial aid?
Financial aid is help given to eligible students to pay for school. Students can use it to pay for educational expenses at an eligible postsecondary school. There are three categories of student aid:
- Grants and scholarships
- Work-study
- Loans
Who provides financial aid?
Financial aid can come from a variety of sources. These include:
- The federal government
- The state government
- The college you attend
- The military
- Employee tuition assistance
- Outside organizations
What does financial aid cover?
Financial aid can cover multiple expenses. These include:
- Tuition and fees
- Room and board
- Books and supplies
- Transportation
