General Education Mobile (GEM) Program

HACC is a proud partner of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF)

HACC has partnered with CCAF's General Education Mobile (GEM) program to offer online general education courses. Airmen, Space Force and Guardians can complete 15 semester hours toward the CCAF general education requirements. These five general education courses typically include humanities, mathematics, oral communication, social sciences, and written communication. Tuition rates can be found here


Do I qualify for this program?

HACC offers these courses for Airmen, Space Force and Guardians who want to complete their CCAF Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree requirements.

When are these courses available?

We encourage students to review HACC's Class Schedule page to review course offerings.

In general, HACC offers Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer course terms.  Most terms run between 4 and 16 weeks in length.  The winter term run about 3 weeks between December and January of each year.   


How do I enroll?

1.Select HACC as your GEM institution.

  • Visit AF Portal.
  • Search for "Harrisburg Area Community College." Select HACC and register for courses.
  • Contact HACC's Military and Veteran Affairs to start the HACC admissions and registration process. You may contact the office at at vaoffice@hacc.edu or 717-780-2331.  Primary contact is Dr. Adam Walter, Military and Veteran Affairs Director.  

2. Apply to HACC.

3.  Watch your e-mail for next steps for admission and enrollment.
