To begin your onboarding process, please follow the process outlined by your HR Recruiter in your offer email. For questions, please contact Human Resources at hr@hacc.edu.

Before your employment at HACC begins, you are required to complete an onboarding process. Onboarding consists of new hire documents, benefits enrollment, and I-9 verification. Certain positions will also require completion of PA Act 15 Clearances.

Please use the following links to download and complete paperwork and note that:

  • All completed forms are to be emailed back to your HR Recruiter or hr@hacc.edu within five (5) business days of acceptance of employment offer.
  • All paperwork must be completed accurately.
  • Requests for additional information or paperwork which is incomplete or missing may delay processing.

Official Transcripts
If you did not provide copies of your official transcripts of your highest degree obtained with your application, you will be required to do so within 10 days of your start.

HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College strives to create a welcoming and safe environment for students, employees and visitors. Therefore, background checks are performed on all final candidates prior to an employment offer; hiring is contingent upon the results of this background check.

HACC requires employees and volunteers to complete and sign an Employment/Volunteer Disclosure and Authorization Form (pdf) authorizing, without reservation any party, including, but not limited to, employers, consumer reporting agencies, law enforcement agencies, state agencies, institutions and private information bureaus or repositories, contacted by CBY System Inc. to furnish any or all of the above mentioned information, including consumer reports and/or investigative consumer reports. Your signature allows a photocopy or fax copy of this authorization to be as valid as the original.

Certain HACC positions are required to have Act 15 clearances on file. HACC is able to accept copies or originals if these clearances were completed for another employer and are still within five (5) years of the initial request date. The reason for request must state employment and not volunteer. Costs associated with the clearances are the responsibility of the employee.

If you are required to obtain these clearances, your HR Recruiter will advise you and provide detailed instructions on how to obtain each clearance.
 

Affidavit of Employee
Employees required to obtain Act 15 Clearances must sign and complete an affidavit of employee (pdf) concerning criminal history report and child abuse clearance check. This form affirms an employee has applied for the clearances listed below, allows the employee to be employed for ninety (90) days while checks are processed and affirms the affidavit is subject to the penalties 18 Pa. C.S. §4904 relating to unsworn falsification to authorities.

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
Employees must register with IdentoGo with the service code 1KG756. Employees have the option to go to a public location or HACC’s Harrisburg Campus (not a public location) in the Office of Human Resources. If an employee would like to go to HACC’s Harrisburg campus please contact hr@hacc.edu to schedule an appointment.


Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearances
Employees must create an account with the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Information Solution, Child Welfare Portal. The application purpose is "School Employee Not Governed by Public School Code." The portal service provides a means for individuals to apply for PA Child Abuse History Clearance online and for mandated reporters to report child abuse in Pennsylvania.


Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
Employees must go to this website Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History and review terms and conditions for the use of PATCH. A new record check needs to be submitted for employer and not volunteer purposes as an individual request.


Mandated Reporter Training Certification
Employees must go to https://www.reportabusepa.pitt.edu/, register and select the “Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse ” course. This training takes approximately three (3) hours to complete.

I do not recall whom my HR Recruiter is, what should I do?

I have tax related questions on the Local Income Tax Information form, where can I find FAQs?
For local income tax Information, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development website.

I-9 Verification – I do not reside in Harrisburg, PA. What are my options for verifying my I-9?
To verify your I-9, please contact your HR Recruiter for available options. Additional options include: verifying at another HACC Campus, having a notary verify or going to a CUPA-HR Reciprocal school. For more information about completing the I-9 form, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-9.  

How do I know if I need Act 15 clearances?
Please contact your HR Recruiter to confirm if you will need to obtain Act 15 Certifications.
