Meet Yenifer: Growing her future and her community

“I thought of myself more or less behind and I talked to my classmates and noticed they felt the same way. That helped me see that we are in this together.” 

Yenifer chose HACC because it offered her an affordable path to a nursing career while balancing her personal life. HACC also connected her to other aspiring nurses.

“Being new to nursing school can be a challenge… especially if you have never had any previous healthcare experience,” said Yenifer. “I thought of myself more or less behind and I talked to my classmates and noticed they felt the same way. That helped me see that we are in this together.”

Since enrolling and starting to work toward her goals, Yenifer has maintained great grades and learned much more than simply career skills – and she has some advice for fellow students.

“HACC offers a lot of help, and there are endless places to study,” she said. “They offer help for when you struggle, and many people don’t know that.” One of the best places to study, according to Yenifer, is the indoor garden in the Lancaster Campus’ East Building.
