Please note the following updates on HACC’s Lancaster Campus:

The Main Building on HACC’s Lancaster Campus remains open.
The East Building on HACC’s Lancaster Campus will remain closed until further notice.
The College will share an update when the East Building is ready to open.
Note that although power has been restored to the Main Building, the East Building sustained additional damage due to a water surge at the building's main power source when power was briefly restored. This resulted in significant water damage to the electrical systems that supply the building.
Students who have classes in the East Building will receive additional information about their classes via email. Please monitor your email for updates.
Employees who are normally located in the East Building should consult their supervisor or executive dean for more direction.
Remote classes, clinicals and online classes are running as normal.

Course selection and eligibility

Do I need to take placement testing?	Before taking the placement test, view the multiple measures chart. If the student meets college level eligibility per the measures, the student does NOT have to take placement tests. If the student does not meet a measure, then they will need to take placement testing. Placement testing links are sent to students via Hawkmail from orientation@hacc.edu. If a student does not plan to pursue college math at HACC, there is no need to take the math placement test at this time.
Are there courses that do not have pre-requisites?	Yes! There are courses that do not have pre-requisites that any student can register for. Here is a list of course options.
Where can a student find placement test results?	Placement testing results will be available to the student’s account in 24 hours. Placement scores can be found via myHACC - Student Profile - Prior Education and Testing. Students can connect with a success coach to review score results, determine course eligibility and plan for registration.
How can a student submit their PSAT, SAT or ACT score?	If a student meets the PSAT, SAT or ACT score to meet multiple measures, download College Board official score report and submit to admissionsrecords@hacc.edu. The scores will be added to the student’s HACC file.
How can AP scores be sent to HACC?	Download the College Board official score report and send to successcoach@hacc.edu OR submit scores directly from College Board to HACC (transcripteval@hacc.edu). This will be reviewed and added to your HACC file.

HACC course registration and payment

Question	Answer
When does registration open for the semester? When is the last day to register for a course?	All registration dates are posted to HACC’s College Calendar. Students can register for classes up until the day before the class begins. It is recommended to register early when registration opens to ensure seats and sections are available. NOTE - CHS students will be notified via email when they can register and pay for their CHS course. This usually takes place at the start of the semester. Students taking a CHS course follow different registration and tuition dates.
How do I know if my student is eligible to take a HACC course? Do they need placement testing?	Course descriptions include prerequisite information for a course and can be found here. Students do not necessarily have to take placement testing. Please view information about multiple measures here and ensure information is on file to confirm eligibility for the course. Some HACC courses do not have prerequisites, meaningany admitted HACC student can take the course.
When is tuition due?	Tuition dates can be found here. The HACC payment plan OR full tuition must be in place by the tuition due date. If a student is registered for a course(s) and does not have payment in place by the tuition due date, they will be dropped from courses. Dual enrollment students can register after the tuition due date. Tuition must be paid at the time of registration. NOTE - CHS students will be notified of the tuition due dates in registration email. CHS tuition due dates can be found here.
What is the tuition for a dual enrollment class?	Dual enrollment tuition = $175/credit College in the High School = $83.50/credit NOTE - Most classes are three credits. Some additional fees may apply. Students can confirm final invoice via MyHACC.
Can a dual enrollment student receive financial aid to help pay for HACC classes?	No. Dual enrollment students are not eligible for federal financial aid. Students must have a high school diploma in order to be eligible for financial aid. Dual enrollment and college in the high school tuition is significantly reduced to make the tuition as affordable as possible. Students seeking financial support are encouraged to connect with their high school or local organizations for any opportunities. The HACC payment plan is an option to help make tuition payments more manageable.
How can a student confirm they are registered and paid for a class?	Students should refer to their myHACC portal to review their HACC account. MyHACC – Registration/Records – Student Accounts/Bill Information – View Student Invoice and Schedule.
What are the dates for the semester?	All semester dates can be confirmed via the College Calendar. Fall semester - August-December Winter term - December-January (4 week accelerated term; 4 credits only) Spring semester - January-May Summer term - May-August It is very important to pay attention to the start and end date of courses when searching for classes. HACC has various term start and end dates within a semester (full term, late, and 7 week options).
Is the semester schedule available to view?	Class offerings can be viewed at www.hacc.edu – Class Schedules
How are HACC courses offered?	Various modalities are offered which include face-to-face, online, and remote and hybrid (a combination of modalities).
Are books required for courses?	Use your course schedule to find your class CRN# and book requirements on the HACC Bookstore website. Some classes may not have books and online materials are used.
