Meet Tom: Finding His Future at HACC

“HACC has been with me every step of the way, and I am thankful for the opportunity they have given me.” 

After participating in HACC’s dual enrollment program as a homeschooled student, Tom took the step to continue his education and become a full-time student in the Social Sciences Program. However, it had been a while since Tom stepped foot in a classroom, and he wasn’t quite sure where to start.

On his first day, Tom said he found just the help he needed. “The teacher I had was kind enough to show me where I’d sit, and he helped explain everything to me that day.” 

In addition to finding his footing, Tom said that attending classes at HACC has helped him interact with more people. He now feels more comfortable speaking to, and in front of, his classmates.

Tom also said that choosing to continue at HACC has helped him determine what his future might hold. “HACC has changed my life, because it has helped me determine what I truly wanted to do with my life.” 

Tom would suggest HACC as an option for those seeking to further their education: “I would definitely recommend HACC due to the friendliness of the classrooms and how much they are willing to help you.”
He continued, “HACC has been with me every step of the way, and I am thankful for the opportunity they have given me.”
