Meet Michael: Police Academy Graduate

 Curwensville, PA

At the age of 50, after completing 30 years of military service, Michael Ford accepted and completed a new challenge, HACC’s Police Academy/Act 120 Training.

He described the program as an “excellent and rapid means to receive quality training.” He added, “The entire staff and supporting instructors at the Law Enforcement Center (Police Academy) are excellent and inspiring. Most of them are currently serving in or have retired from law enforcement or related capacity.”

Michael said that HACC’s presence in the community has a direct impact on public health and safety, noting that without the training options HACC offers, there would be fewer law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). He said, “HACC has a top-notch public safety training center that provides a means for training and education of our new Police, Fire and EMTs.”

Michael said, “Life is just a series of challenges, one after another and another...We should be constantly seeking new challenges so we can improve and strive for ‘better.’”

For his next challenge, Michael said he plans to continue his education and pursue classes in human relations and law.
