Daniel Lufkin, Ed.D., is the eighth president of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, a position he assumed in June 2026. A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Lufkin has dedicated more than 25 years to higher education leadership and student success, serving students and communities across Arizona, Virginia, Texas, and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Lufkin began his professional career as an elementary school teacher in Phoenix, Arizona before transitioning into higher education, where he held leadership roles in student affairs, enrollment management, athletics, and academic administration. Prior to joining HACC, he served as President of Tarrant County College South Campus in Fort Worth, Texas, and previously as President of Paul D. Camp Community College in Virginia.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lufkin has been recognized for advancing workforce development, expanding educational access, and building partnerships that strengthen communities and regional economies. He has served on numerous local, state, and national boards, including the Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County Board of Directors, the Virginia Board of Workforce Development, the Tarrant County Reentry Coalition Board, and the Virginia Tidewater Consortium. A passionate educator, Dr. Lufkin has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in leadership, governance in higher education, and student success as an adjunct faculty member at Texas Christian University and University of Arizona Global Campus, believing that staying connected to students and the classroom helps inform his leadership and decision making.
Originally from Upstate New York, Dr. Lufkin is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, mountain biking, basketball, and golf. He and his wife, Catey, are proud parents of two children, Lily and Layton.
