“Thousands of local residents have attended HACC, and many have gone on to jobs leading to better lives.”

Michael Macchioni, president of Hershey’s Gemma’s Angels LTD, has seen first-hand the transformative power of a HACC education.

“Thousands of local residents have attended HACC, and many have gone on to jobs leading to better lives,” says Macchioni.

Macchioni witnesses this community impact through his work with Gemma’s Angels, a non-profit that raises funds and distributes fresh produce free of charge to shelters, soup kitchens, food pantries and senior citizen centers in Dauphin and Lebanon counties.

Macchioni earned a business administration degree from HACC in 1980. A retired training and web designer who previously served as director of parks and recreation in Derry Township, Macchioni is a champion for his local community, using his knowledge and experience to lift up his neighbors. Doing so helps him lead “a happy and fulfilling life,” he says.

“I am so incredibly proud to be a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College,” he says, citing HACC’s affordability, local focus and knowledgeable faculty.
