School District Sponsorship
Please review the information below to learn more about school district sponsorship and tuition rates.
What is school district sponsorship?
Certain school districts will pay a portion of your tuition if you live in their school district. There are 22 school districts participating in this program with HACC. These school districts are "sponsoring school districts."
Any resident – of any age – in the sponsoring school districts may receive the special tuition rates.
How can I take advantage of this sponsorship?
To take advantage of sponsored tuition rates, you must request a Certificate of Residence from your sponsoring school district. To be eligible, you must reside in the sponsoring school district, but you do not have to have attended the school district.
The school district can submit the certificate to HACC in two ways:
- The school district can submit the Certificate of Residence to the College electronically.
- Harrisburg and Williams Valley school districts ask future HACC students to submit the paper certificate. You can submit the paper Certificate of Residence to any campus Welcome Center.
When is my Certificate of Residence due?
Please submit your Certificate of Residence by the tuition payment due date. A Certificate of Residence is valid from July 1 to June 30 - one fiscal year. You must get a new certificate each year.
If you are submitting a prior fiscal year certificate of residency, the deadline is Sept. 30 of the ending fiscal year. For example, you must submit a 2019-20 fiscal year certificate no later than Sept. 30, 2020.
If you do not submit your certificate by the deadline, you will be charged the non-sponsoring rate. This will be your tuition cost until you present a valid Certificate of Residence.
Who determines my residency?
HACC does not determine your residency within a school district. Please refer to your school district for any questions regarding school district residency.
