The Shumaker Public Safety Center is an authorized American Heart Association training center. We provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training. Learn about this training.


What classes are available?
 
Basic Life Support (BLS)  - $65.00

This course provides the foundation for saving lives from cardiac arrest. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics. This course is for healthcare providers for initial certification.These include EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses and respiratory therapists. It is also ideal for students entering the healthcare field. Tuition includes the required AHA CPR BLS textbook. You must pass a written and practical skills exam to obtain certification.

 
Basic Life Support (BLS) Renewal - $40.00

This course provides a refresher of the foundation for saving lives from cardiac arrest. It reviews both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics. This course does not require a textbook. You must pass a written and practical skills exam to obtain certification. 

 

Heartsaver CPR & AED - $50.00
Schedule and Online Registration
This course is for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency, using an AED, and also covers choking in infants, children, and adults. It is ideal for individuals who need to fulfill a regulatory requirement. This course does not meet the requirements for healthcare providers.
 

First Aid, CPR & AED Heartsaver - $75.00
Schedule and Online Registration

This course helps students recognize and treat sudden illness and injury. Students also learn to recognize signs of unresponsiveness. It also covers bleeding control, airway management, CPR and using an AED.This program meets OSHA requirements for First Aid training at all work places.

 

When is registration due?
Registration for closes two weeks before the start of class. We will not accept on-site registrations. Payment is due at the time of registration.

All AHA cards are now eCards. If you need a new card issued to you, please see the following fees:
BLS, ACLS, PEARS or PALS courses - $10.00 processing fee
Heartsaver courses - $20.00 processing fee  
You can access eCards at any time on the AHA website. For information on eCards, please call 717-780-2458.
