Our Mission: To make available quality education, affordable training, and professional resources for
Emergency Medical Service Practitioners, Healthcare providers and the citizens in our communities.
The EMS Programs at HACC’s Shumaker Public Safety Center began in 1980 because of a few visionaries who identified the need to provide quality EMS education to Dauphin County and the surrounding areas.
During the next decades the programs evolved and enrollment grew to meet the challenges facing the EMS community in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Currently, the Shumaker Public Safety Center serves as the home base for the EMS Academy, administrative support for a variety of certification programs and continuing education classes as well as an American Heart Association Training Center.
