HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, recently received an $800,000 Dual Credit Innovation Grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. This funding will enable the College to expand access to affordable dual enrollment classes for eligible high school students across Pennsylvania.

Established in July 2024, the Dual Credit Innovation Grant helps public institutions increase their capacity to offer dual enrollment programs, which are shown to improve academic success, high school graduation rates, college enrollment and college completion rates.

“The 2025 Dual Credit Innovation Grant is a powerful affirmation of HACC’s unwavering commitment to expanding access to affordable, high-quality higher education for all,” said John J. “Ski” Sygielski, MBA, Ed.D., president and CEO of HACC. “With this funding, we are not only able to strengthen our dual credit offerings, but also to empower more high school students to take meaningful steps toward their college degrees and long-term career success.”

HACC has a long-standing commitment to providing high school students with the opportunity to complete college-level courses while still in high school through two programs: College in the High School and Dual Enrollment. High school students can earn college credits while completing their requirements for a high school diploma and enroll at HACC or another college of their choice after graduating from high school.

Governor Josh Shapiro’s administration awarded over $14 million in Dual Credit Innovation Grant funding to 15 public institutions of higher education, including HACC. This initiative is part of the Governor’s focus on creating prosperous pathways for learners across the commonwealth.
