For those with cabin fever, there are plenty of reasons to get out of the house this spring with an array of educational trips offered by HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

Sherlock Holmes Weekend in Cape May will be offered March 3-5, with the bus departing the Harrisburg Campus of HACC at 2 p.m. and the Lebanon Campus of HACC at 2:45 p.m. Cost and other information may be obtained by calling Darlene Kalenevitch, 717-270-6309.

Participants will join Sherlock Holmes for a weekend of fun, mystery and intrigue, Friday through Sunday. The crime will be revealed Friday evening at a dessert and coffee buffet. Prizes will be awarded for Victorian costumes. Saturday will be spent following clues and enjoying the sites of Cape May. The mystery will be solved and prizes awarded at Sunday morning brunch.

Philadelphia Flower Show will be the destination on Saturday, March 11. Bus will depart the Harrisburg Campus of HACC at 6 a.m. and the Lancaster Campus of HACC at 7 a.m. Cost of $75 includes bus, guide and admission ticket.

The Philadelphia Flower show offers something for everyone, whether amateur or professional gardener. Impressive floral exhibitions, outstanding gardens, and informative demonstrations will inspire participants.

The show will feature more than 140 vendors from around the world with high- quality plants, fresh-cut flowers, gardening tools, patio furniture, dried flower arrangements, unique containers, baskets and vases, and more.

HACC professor Dr. Donald Koones will lead a group to New York City for Wicked: A Broadway Musical on Saturday, May 13. A bus will depart the Harrisburg Campus of HACC at 5 a.m. and the Lancaster Campus of HACC at 6 a.m. Cost of $200 includes transportation and orchestra seating. Participants will have dinner on their own.

Wicked is situated long before Dorothy arrives in the Land of Oz. The focus is on two girls, one who is born with emerald-green skin, smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two young girls end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years.

HACC will host American Girl Day in New York City on Saturday, June 10. A bus will depart the Lancaster Campus HACC at 5.45 a.m. and the Harrisburg Campus of HACC at 6:45 a.m. Cost of $165 includes transportation to the American Girl Place, lunch at the American Girl Café, a show at the American Girl Theater, and on-your-own shopping time.

Dads will love the Father's Day Golf Excursion, Saturday, June 10. A bus will depart the Harrisburg Campus of HACC at 9:15 a.m. and the Lancaster Campus of HACC at 10 a.m.

The Wetland Golf Course in Aberdeen, MD., is the destination. Cost of $175 includes transportation, lunch, a hands-on session, "Improving Your Game," with PGA golf professional Tim Birney and shotgun tee time at 1 p.m. At the end of play, there will be a dinner at the golf clubhouse to discuss the scores of the day and to identify the contest winners.

Exploring Civil War Sites and Historical Lectures on the Legendary Delta Queen Riverboat is a cruise on the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers Aug. 7-14. Additional information about cost and itinerary may be obtained by calling Dr. Donald Koones at 717-780-2444.
