HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is partnering with Groom Curriculum to launch a Professional Dog Grooming Program. This hybrid course will prepare students for the American Kennel Club Professional Groomer Credential.

Students will leave the program with expertise in grooming equipment and sanitation practices, experience with common pet salon styles and training in safe and humane handling. This course will also provide students with a pathway to employment in local salons, mobile grooming or self-employment.

Holly Simmons, director of community education at HACC, said, “The launch of our professional dog grooming course reflects our commitment to offering training that leads directly to career opportunities. Through our partnership with Groom Curriculum, students will gain industry-relevant instruction, practical skills and hands-on training needed to pursue careers in a growing industry while helping meet the demand for qualified pet care professionals. We're proud to provide an accessible pathway into a profession that combines technical expertise with a love for animals.”
