Beginning with storewide reductions of 10 to 50 percent on all merchandise and ending with an all-day anniversary reception, Radius, HACC Gallery and Museum Shop will feature the work of artists who have contributed to the shop's reputation for unique, handmade, original pieces.
On Saturday, February 11, the reception will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include craft demonstrations, live music, and refreshments. Sale price on merchandise continues until Sunday, Feb. 12.
"We are very pleased with Radius' performance in this first year," said Morgan Muth, manager. "This anniversary sale and celebration is our way of kicking off our second year and continuing to send the message that we are an outlet for unique, handmade craft items."
Operated by HACC, the gift shop features merchandise produced by HACC contemporary crafts marketing students, as well as select items from the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.
The State Museum of Pennsylvania reopened the museum shop a year ago with a new look and products that feature the artistic talents of HACC students. While the venture brings entrepreneurial opportunities for HACC students, the Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission, The State Museum's parent organization, maintains its focus on Pennsylvania artisans and Commonwealth-related merchandise. Radius also carries unique souvenirs of Pennsylvania and educational toys for children.
