Among the many HACC Gettysburg offerings are favorites like the Adult Living and Learning seminars and Summer Sundown Gettysburg Battlefield tours.
Offered on Wednesday, May 17, the Adult Living and Learning Seminars includes a continental breakfast and choice of two seminars, such as Gentle Relaxation Massage and Internet Fraud and Lottery Scams. The cost of the one-day program is $30.
The popular battlefield tours begin in early June and run through August 9 on most Wednesday evenings. The three-hour walking tours are led by licensed battlefield guides and cost $30 each.
For the first time this year, HACC Gettysburg will offer driver education and defensive driving programs. The Driver Education program is the classroom component of the state's 30-hour driver education program.
Students will learn to understand traffic signs, laws and signals, the capabilities and limitations of a motor vehicle, and techniques for driving in diverse areas and diverse locations. The 15-session course is offered from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 9 through June 27. The cost is $225.
The Defensive Driving program is a comprehensive driver improvement course that complies with court mandated requirements for drivers to maintain their driving privileges. The four-session course is offered from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 23 to June 1. The cost is $99.
HACC also plans to offer two noncredit courses at its York Center location for the first time this year. One will be Spanish and the other, landlord/tenant law.
