Beginning Wednesday, November 15, emerging artists in the area will have an opportunity to share their work with the public through a new exhibition at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College. The collection of mixed media, created by more than 40 artists who submitted items, remains open to the public through December 8. A reception for the artists is scheduled from Thursday, November 16, from 6pm to 8pm in room 203 in the East Building of the Lancaster Campus. The public is invited.

Talented artists from the Central Pennsylvania region were invited to showcase their ability in HACC's first-ever Juried Community Art Show planned at the Lancaster Campus.

"Our intent with this show is to highlight the art work of emerging artists in our region," said Judith Johnson, a local artist and member of HACC Lancaster's Humanities faculty. "We also want to provide them with a supportive environment for the exchange of ideas."

Johnson and other members of HACC Lancaster's Art and Humanities faculty selected the final works for the exhibit.

The Juried Community Art Show runs from November 15 through December 8 in the East Building, Room 203, at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike. The public is invited during these hours: noon to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm Monday through Thursday and noon to 3pm Friday or by special arrangement. The exhibit is closed weekends and during the Thanksgiving holiday.
