"We have planned a family-focused event that will feature community organizations, craft and flea market vendors, games for the kids, pony rides, food, live music and fun for all ages," said Jennifer Alleman, MS, counselor, Student Services. "We're hoping that this will be the first of many future Community Days that will draw attention to the variety of educational and community service opportunities available to residents of the Lancaster County area."
Several of the attractions scheduled throughout the day will be held at the Gold Café at Union National Community Bank. Located at the entrance to HACC's Lancaster Campus, the Gold Café is the primary sponsor of the Campus Community Day. In addition to coffee samples and seminars, pony rides, and children's crafts, local musician Harry George will entertain at the Gold Café from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Steven Courtney, who has received multiple awards for his style of family fun musical entertainment, will perform live from 1 to 2 p.m. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and prepare to dance, clap and sing along to his infectious music.
Lancaster Barnstormer fans take note. Players will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to meet fans and sign autographs. Also scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m., is an accuracy pitch with the Barnstormers. Barnstormer mascot, Cylo, also is making an appearance.
Rain date is Sunday, September 17. Small change donations will be accepted for some of the activities. The proceeds will benefit various scholarship funds at HACC's Lancaster Campus. More details are available by calling the Lancaster Campus at 717-358-2973 or click on the Website below.
