Individually known for their incredible musicianship, award-winning songs and personal warmth, the ever popular Red Grammer and Grammy winner Tom Chapin are joining together in a first time ever musical collaboration that is not to be missed! Be aware, "Hello World!" is not a spectator event. Bring your voices and laughter, your claps and your smiles. This show will draw you into the fun and leave you feeling more connected to yourself, your family, and your world. The program features Grammer and Chapin together on stage with each singing his audience favorites accompanied by pianist Michael Mark.
Tom Chapin, the "natural-born entertainer" (Billboard Magazine), is a gifted musician who has performed to sold out houses at RLAC on two separate occasions in the past. Tom's remarkable musicianship charms audiences of all ages. His great songwriting and personal warmth shine through whether he's performing in a major concert hall, an outdoor festival, in front of a symphony orchestra or in an intimate coffeehouse.
He has gained widespread critical and popular acclaim for his recordings aimed at 4 to 11 year-olds and their families. Tom and his collaborators John Forster, Michael Mark and Jon Corbet have created a body of songs which are quickly becoming children's classics and have been recognized with awards from the American Library Association, Parent's Choice, the New York Music Awards, the National Association of Parenting Publications and Parents Magazine as well as Grammy nominations. Great Big Fun for the Very Little One (2001), a unique collection of songs aimed especially at his youngest fans and their families, received the 2002 Parent's Choice Gold Award.
Tom's unique ability to touch audiences isn't limited to his music, however. He brought innovative and challenging television to a national audience as the host of ABC-TV's Peabody and Emmy Award winning children's show, Make A Wish, and later Tom hosted National Geographic's Explorer series on TBS. Tom is also a beloved narrator of children's books on tape. Two of his narrations won Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word Album for Children:Mama Don't Allow and There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly.
Red Grammer, dubbed "best voice in children's music" (Parents Magazine), has set the gold standard for writing and performing contemporary children's music. Consistently winning awards for music with uplifting themes, innovative lyrics, and irresistible melodies Red and his wife (co-lyricist Kathy Grammer) have created a treasure trove of music for families and classrooms. One of his recordings, Teaching Peace, was named by The All Music Guide as "one of the top five children's recordings of all time" and was given a rare Parent's Choice Classic Children's Audio Award. "Picking the best of Red Grammer is like choosing the best chocolate in a box of Godiva. . .you can't go wrong!"- Parent's Choice Awards. The ideas and themes that permeate the Grammer's music arise from their belief that children are intelligent, inquisitive and come into this world "pre-wired" to learn how to work together and understand each other. Children are supported to be problem-solvers, embrace diversity, and live up to their highest reality. . .laughing and singing as they go.
Red can be heard nourishing the hearts and souls of both young and old via his multiple award-winning recordings, his numerous appearances on television, and his new video/DVD. He has recorded six albums for kids and families, two for adults and tours extensively around the world.
