"Day, evening, weekend, Internet and video courses provide a flexible schedule for full and part-time students," said Maureen Campbell, associate dean of enrollment management services. "That flexible schedule combined with low tuition costs and small class size make it easy to earn degrees, earn credit for transfer, obtain job skills training or start a new career."
Counselors and faculty from the Lancaster Campus will be on hand during the open house to answer questions about academic programs, transfer information and course scheduling. Visitors also will have the opportunity to tour the on-campus childcare center, investigate a mock crime scene, learn about workforce and economic development programs and take a campus tour, which includes the Library and Learning Center, Allied Health/Nursing Labs, Biology and Chemistry labs.
Campus tours of the Main Building will begin at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon. Tours of the East Building will begin at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Other scheduled events include:
Lorie Sonnen, career specialist, will lead the presentation that helps students debunk preconceived notions they may have about choosing a major.
"I will help them focus on what their strengths and interests are and what things they need to consider in their process of self discovery," she said. "I will stress the fact that it is okay to use college as a chance to sample and test things out."
