Bogus Bucktails: Stone's Brigade On July 1, 1863, the Union troops of Col. Roy Stone went into battle for the first time. This course will examine the recruitment of the Union troops of Col. Roy Stone, their experiences prior to the Battle of Gettysburg, and finally their role at Gettysburg. Tour will begin in the parking lot in the rear of the west end Guide station on Rte. 30.
In the shadow of the Round Tops is a stroll with Battlefield Guide Timothy H. Smith across the faces of Little and Big Round Top. Discussion will focus on the history of the area and the fighting that took place there. The group will also view historic images that were recorded in the area and compare how the Battlefield has changed over the years. Tour starts the parking area of Little Round Top.
Both of these courses are walking tours and participants are asked to dress appropriately with comfortable walking shoes.
