The summer schedule of noncredit classes at HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, will hit mailboxes soon. One of the first community education tours in the schedule has a destination of Washington, D.C., to see the acclaimed play, Big River, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Cost of Big River- A Theatrical Visit with Huckleberry Finn and Dinner Overlooking the Potomac River on Sunday, May 1, is $135 and includes bus, guide, theater ticket and dinner.

The bus will leave the Lebanon Campus of HACC at 9:30 a.m., the Harrisburg Campus at 10:30 a.m., and the Gettysburg Campus at 11:30 a.m.

Dr. Donald Koones, HACC's associate dean of community education, will host the trip. He will acquaint participants with historic Washington, D.C., as well as Ford's Theater where the group will enjoy the adventures of Huckleberry Finn through the genius of Mark Twain.

The outstanding musical production of Big River will take the audience back to a rural America of the 1840s with the exploits of Huckleberry Finn, Jim -a runaway slave- and numerous personalities they meet while traveling by raft on the Mississippi River.

Big River is a mix of folk, country, Cajun, gospel and Blues songs, which add up to a delightful afternoon. Afterward, the group will dine at Cabana's overlooking the Potomac River. Registration may be made by accessing the Website below.
