Professional business women from across Central Pennsylvania are "taking their show on the road," literally. Throughout the month of April, women professionals will be participating in four half-day events to fuel the growth of women entrepreneurs.

The Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at HACC, which includes Women's Marketplace, a free service to help women with businesses from concept to three years of age, has organized the 2nd annual Women on the Move event. Sponsors are Wachovia, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Delta Development Group and a number of additional sponsors from the region.

Targeting woman-owned business leaders or women considering starting their own business, Women on the Move will serve as a one-stop resource for women interested in furthering the success of their endeavors.

Based on last year's overwhelming success, the 2005 event will take place at four separate locations throughout Central Pennsylvania - April 5 at HACC's Harrisburg Campus, April 12 at HACC's Gettysburg Campus, April 19 at The Yorktown Hotel in York, and April 26 at HACC's Lancaster Campus.

Each half-day event will begin at 8 a.m. with opening remarks and a Women Entrepreneur Panel and will conclude at approximately 1:45 p.m. following a networking session.

"We saw a need in the community for women entrepreneurs to understand where the resources are for women and women-owned businesses to succeed," said Mary Anne van Arsdale, executive director, The Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at HACC.

The half-day program presents a clear and concise picture of opportunities near owners' business locations. Rapid-fire presentations on resources including financial planning, marketing assistance, business planning and professional counseling, and advice from successful entrepreneurs make this program unique.

Each location will feature a woman entrepreneur to provide the keynote address "Women in the Media." Featured speakers include Donna Shankweiler, co-owner of Journal Publications Inc., in Harrisburg; Barbara Benton, president of Moon House Media in Gettysburg; Liz Maneval, publisher of WE Magazine, Inc., in York and Donna Anderson, president and founder of On-Line Publishers, in Lancaster.

Each participant will receive the book, "Starting and Growing a Business in Pennsylvania," as well as a regional resource directory and other handouts.
