Faculty members from the Lancaster Campus of HACC, central Pennsylvania's community college, hope to increase student interest in politics by hosting two free pre-election events that are open to the public.

The first event, "The Evolution of Political Advertising," is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. Adjunct political science instructor Joseph Jucewicz will lead the discussion in East Room 203 on the Lancaster Campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike.

Local candidates from each political party, including Independents, Republicans, Greens and Democrats, will talk briefly about their party's agenda as it relates to education and the Lancaster community during a political forum scheduled for Tuesday, October 26. "All Ballot Access" will be held in the campus multi-purpose room, East Room 203, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Heather Mello, adjunct sociology instructor, and Karen Polite, adjunct sociology/human services instructor will serve as moderators for the event. A question and answer discussion will follow the candidates' presentations.
