The Wildwood Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College is hosting a Health Careers Exploration Fair on Thursday, March 8, from 6pm to 9pm in the Cooper Student Center. Pinnacle Health System and Holy Spirit Health System are also sponsoring the event.

Students, parents and anyone considering a career change or interested in health care professions are encouraged to attend. From 7pm to 8pm, a panel of health care professionals, hospital administrators, and counselors will discuss current issues, trends and educational requirements in health care.

Practitioners will be available to discuss careers in nursing, respiratory care, paramedic, radiology technician, dietetics, dental hygiene, medical lab technician, nuclear medicine technology, pharmacy technology and medical assistant.

"Between HACC, Pinnacle Heath System, and Holy Spirit Health System, we are very glad to have this chance to discuss job opportunities in health care," says Brad Leidich, respiratory care professor for HACC. "It's becoming quite apparent just how severe the shortages in health care are - not just in nursing, but other areas too. We hope this career exploration fair may be helpful to those who would like to investigate possibilities in health care. There is incredible opportunity out there - it's very exciting."

Attendees are invited to browse the display booths and talk with representatives from hospitals and program practitioners and counselors.
