Anglers from the novice to the expert who are looking to improve their fishing skills are invited to attend the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) Fishing Techniques Institute hosted by Harrisburg Area Community College. The Institute will be held at the C. Ted Lick Wildwood Conference Center on the Wildwood Campus of HACC on Saturday and Sunday, March 4 and 5, from 8am to 4pm.

The six institute instructors are nationally renowned bass anglers.

Larry Nixon, of Bee Branch, Arkansas, is a two-time Angler of the Year, B.A.S.S. Masters Classic, and four-time Megabucks Champion. Has won more than $1 million fishing for bass. Host of the television series, Larry Nixon¹s Fishing Lesson.

Guido Hibdon, Gravois Mills, Missouri, is a two-time B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year, and one-time B.A.S.S. Masters Classic Champion.

Dion Hibdon, Stover, Missouri, A B.A.S.S. Masters Classic Champion, and lure designer and bass fishing guide.

Mark Menendez, of Paducah, Kentucky, Holder of the all-time big bass record for largest bass caught in a B.A.S.S. event‹13 lbs., 9 oz.

Don Iovino, of Burbank, California, B.A.S.S. Angler of the year in both North and South divisions. Recently inducted into the International Fishing Hall of Fame; he also works as a California bass fishing guide. Originator of the "doodle worm: technique.

Woo Daves, of Green Grove, Virginia, Perhaps America¹s top shallow water worm fisherman.

B.A.S.S. Fishing Techniques 2000 will cover mainstream techniques such as plastic worms, Carolina rig fishing, deepwater cranking, topwater, flipping and pitching, bass and cover, seasonal patterns, weather extremes, unproductive water, and spinnerbaits. Discussion will also include techniques such as boat positioning, finesse fishing, and the "milk run" approach to catching bass.
