The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has created the opportunity for manufacturing and technology-based employers to train new employees through the Guaranteed Free Training program.

The Guaranteed Free Training program is available through the Harrisburg Area Community College.

Community College Workforce & Economic Development Division to qualified in-state businesses expanding their workforce and out-of-state companies relocating to the economic-friendly business climate of Pennsylvania.

Qualified companies receive up to $450 per new employee for job training.

Through the Guaranteed Free Training program, your company can benefit from a wide range of entry-level training that will put your employees on the path to higher performance.

A simple set of qualifications determines which companies and employees are eligible to receive this benefit.

To qualify for "free training" funding, the following criteria must apply:

• The employer is based in Pennsylvania or has a significant presence in the state.
• The employer is a new or expanding manufacturing or technology-based business. Point-of-sale retail businesses are not eligible.
• The employer must have hired 12 or more new employees within the past six months. The new jobs must be full-time positions (37.5 hours or more).
• The employees in training must earn at least 150% of minimum wage, excluding benefits. That rate is currently $7.73 per hour.
• Guaranteed Free Training is for new employees only and eligible employees must be residents of Pennsylvania.

Guaranteed Free Training includes the training programs that teach employees a variety of entry-level skills.

Communications and Teamwork
Applied mathematics and measurement
Workplace health and Safety
Problem Solving
Quality Assurance
Manufacturing Fundamentals including:

-Blueprint Reading
- Welding, Soldering
- Tooling, Grinding
- Setup
- Machine
Maintenance
Business Operations
Computer Training
Product and Process Control
Workplace Behavior Skills
