Friday's celebration begins with a welcome, followed by a Kwanzaa presentation by Nate Gadsden's Writer's Wordshop. Then, the seven principles of Kwanzaa, unity, self-determination, responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith, will be observed. A celebratory feast of Kwanzaa, the Karamu, will conclude Friday's program.
Saturday's events begin with a 3 on 3 basketball tournament at 8am. The competition will continue until 7pm in the James Evans Physical Education Center. Participants and spectators alike are welcome to take part in the celebration in the Cooper Student Center between games.

Additional events include activities for children and food and merchandise. From 10am to 2pm, health agencies along with HACC nursing students will be offering health screenings for glaucoma, blood pressure, cancer risk assessment, and cholesterol.
