Date: Monday February 28, 2022 (This event occurred in the past.)
Time: 12:00 PM
  • Description:

Join our February Book Club to read What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Blacker by Damon Young, author and editor, as he shares short essays of the challenges he has faced due to being black, such as the healthcare system that treated his mother differently due to the color of her skin and thus caused her death. Through Young’s humor and wit, his 16 essays tackle his deep honesty of racial tensions in America.

All current HACC students are welcome to register for the free book to be shipped to their home. In order to qualify, you must be able to attend the Book Club Meeting on Monday, February 28 at noon. Limited quantities are available.

All faculty and staff are welcome to attend, but are encouraged to borrow the book from their local library or purchase it through the HACC Bookstore.

    Please contact studentinvolvement@hacc.edu with questions.
    Sponsored by the Book Club.
