In truth, it's not that people don't want the police; they just want to us to be fair, and know we care. I lead with my badge, because it gets me into rooms that I otherwise may not be able to enter, it gets me heard in conversations that I may not normally have a voice.... it helps me get work done, but my badge is just a tool.
