Bridging Police and Community Relations - Student Involvement

Date: Thursday October 21, 2021 (This event occurred in the past.)
Time: 11:30 AM
  • Description:

“The lines between police and community aren't as real, as thick, or as hardened as people think they are. We're not as far apart as the superficial angst and headline-selling imagery would have society believe. In truth, it's not that people don't want the police; they just want to us to be fair, and know we care. I lead with my badge, because it gets me into rooms that I otherwise may not be able to enter, it gets me heard in conversations that I may not normally have a voice.... it helps me get work done, but my badge is just a tool. When we begin to see one another as "people" - flawed, vulnerable, valuable, and forgiving people - walls fall, the blue blurs, the distance and mistakes of the past fade, and perceptions quickly change.” – Commissioner Michael Muldrow

Join us for a discussion with Commissioner Muldrow regarding the optimistic and positive strides in police and community relations in York, PA and surrounding areas.

    All are welcome.
