MLK & The Strength of Shared Dreams - Student Involvement

Date: Thursday January 20, 2022 (This event occurred in the past.)
Time: 12:00 PM
  • Description:

Please join us for "MLK & The Strength of Shared Dreams," Most Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. programs focus on the first two-thirds of his public life. Through character portrayal and video, "Shared Dreams" illustrates the last third of his life. It depicts how MLK's "Poor People’s Campaign" was a turning point in intersectional advocacy. A broad cross-section of cultural groups came together to fight against poverty. Had King lived to be the face of this young movement, it would have changed how we look at race and social issues. We believe that it would have been a great leap forward in our American Civil Rights Story. The program is being presented by Dialogues on Diversity, an award-winning social justice and diversity theater company.

    All are welcome.
