My Grandmother’s Syrian Farm: Spoken Word with Amal Kassi

Date: Wednesday April 13, 2022 (This event occurred in the past.)
Time: 12:00 PM
  • Description:

Amal is a Syrian American spoken word art that takes her Syrian roots and her American upbringing to create strong and relevant stories and art. Join her to learn more about Syria and the unrest in the region, and about how she transforms that pain into her art as a way of building bridges for understanding, empathy, and connection. Art and activism have always been in solidarity, and you can witness her poems that will encourage you to have deep conversations, open your mind to new ideas, and have a better picture of the Syrian struggle.

    All are welcome.
    Sponsored by Student Involvement.
