Her Investments: A Story of Women, Color and ACCESS to Captial - Student Involvement

Date: Wednesday March 23, 2022 (This event occurred in the past.)
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Description:

Please join us for "Her Investment," hosted by Monetta C. Edwards, CMP Director, Winston Center for Leadership and Ethics at Boston College. “Her Investment” is a short film of one young Black woman who knows how access to capital works and is determined to change the game for all women. Through this journey, she brings light to a world too often denied to women simply because of gender.

Women have become a driving force behind U.S. entrepreneurship. According to a 2019 report, women now make up 42% of new entrepreneurs — up 21% since 2014. They started 1,817 new businesses per day. Even more revealing: Women of color operate half of all women-owned businesses. Collectively they employ more than 2 million workers and generate $422 billion in revenue.

    All are welcome.
    Sponsored by Student Involvement.
