    Students enroll in college for many reasons, chief among them is to grow, engage, and succeed by achieving their educational goals. Research clearly indicates that sense of belonging positively affects college students’ success, linking to welcoming environments, supportive relationships, inclusive pedagogies, and frequent interpersonal interactions. With onset of the global COVID pandemic and shifts to online teaching and learning, higher education in hard-pressed to discover effective ways to create high-touch educational environments in times marked by physical distancing, mask mandates, as well as remote/hybrid learning. In this address, Strayhorn will offer evidence-based insights and promising practices to move the needle on student success!
