BOOK CLUB MEETING: March Book Club: Lab Girl by Hope Jahren

    In honor of Women’s Heritage Month, join the Book Club to read Lab Girl is a book about work, love, and the mountains that can be moved when those two things come together. It is told through Jahren’s stories: about her childhood in rural Minnesota with an uncompromising mother and a father who encouraged hours of play in his classroom’s labs; about how she found a sanctuary in science, and learned to perform lab work done “with both the heart and the hands”; and about the inevitable disappointments, but also the triumphs and exhilarating discoveries, of scientific work.

    All current HACC students are welcome to register for the free book to be shipped to their home. In order to qualify, you must be able to attend the Book Club Meeting on Wednesday, Mar. 30, at 3 p.m. Limited quantities are available.

    All faculty and staff are welcome to attend, but are encourages to borrow the book from their local library or purchase it through the HACC Bookstore. Please contact studentinvolvement@hacc.edu with questions.
