HARRISBURG, Pa. - The HACC Foundation recently recognized two employees at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, with the Bruce E. Cooper, Esq. Leadership Award.
Brian LaForme, assistant vice president of finance, was recognized for his strategic leadership, commitment to continuous improvement and ability to drive meaningful organizational change. He is known for identifying opportunities to strengthen operations, developing effective solutions and turning ideas into lasting improvements. LaForme’s efforts have increased efficiency, strengthened collaboration across departments and contributed to the effective use of College resources. By challenging existing practices, pursuing innovative solutions and remaining focused on long-term outcomes, he has created positive change that benefits employees, students and the broader HACC community.
Sasha Serfass, administrative assistant, community standards and student engagement, was recognized for her compassionate leadership, commitment to student well-being and dedication to fostering an engaged and supportive campus community. She has created meaningful opportunities for students to connect, access resources and build a sense of belonging through initiatives such as Mental Health Mondays, weekly yoga sessions, presidential search watch parties and end-of-semester programming. Her collaborative approach, unwavering commitment to student success and focus on holistic support have strengthened the student experience and contributed to a more caring and connected HACC community.
