HACC Statement to Clarify Faculty Strike Authorization Vote

HACC Statement to Clarify Faculty Strike Authorization Vote

HACC Remains Open

Oct. 2, 2025

HARRISBURG, Pa. - HACC faculty are NOT on strike, and HACC classes are STILL being held.

The membership of the Harrisburg Area Community College Education Association (HACCEA) - the union that represents the faculty at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College - voted on Oct. 2, 2025, to authorize the executive committee of the union to call a strike in the event an agreement cannot be reached.

A vote for strike authorization does NOT mean that HACC faculty are on strike or that HACC classes are canceled. Again, HACC faculty are NOT on strike, and HACC classes are STILL being held.
