HACC’s Paramedic Program Earns CAAHEP Accreditation

April 9, 2025

HARRISBURG, Pa. –  HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is proud to announce that the College’s Paramedic program earned accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP). This prestigious recognition ensures HACC students receive a top-tier education and are prepared for successful careers in emergency medical services.

CAAHEP accreditation also underscores the College’s commitment to providing high-quality training that meets national quality assurance standards. Additionally, accreditation offers significant advantages for students, graduates and employers.

For students, CAAHEP accreditation ensures that they receive a high-quality education that equips them with the knowledge, skills and professional competencies essential for success in the field. Graduates of CAAHEP-accredited programs are highly sought after by employers, which opens doors to enhanced job opportunities and career growth. Additionally, many professional certification bodies require graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited program for eligibility to sit for certification exams — an essential step toward licensure and professional practice.

For employers, they can trust that HACC’s program has prepared graduates to meet the ever-evolving demands of the field while providing a strong foundation of knowledge and practical experience. HACC-trained paramedics deliver exceptional care and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Barry S. Eckert, Ph.D., president of CAAHEP, emphasized the importance of accreditation, and said, “Choosing a CAAHEP-accredited program is crucial for students seeking a career in allied health. It ensures that they receive an education that is both comprehensive and relevant to current industry needs, ultimately benefiting their future employers and people receiving care.”

HACC remains dedicated to fostering excellence in education and preparing the next generation of skilled healthcare professionals. For more information about the College’s accredited Paramedic program, please visit this website or call 717-780-2510.
