What is HACC’s program like?
Our certificate trains you in life-support procedures and prepares you to enter the workforce upon completion. The procedures are performed by following physicians’ orders that are sent via radio or by following standard medical protocols. Also, you will be prepared to take the paramedic certification exam administered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
After completing the certificate, you will know how to:
Proudly YOURS, our program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
It is a selective-admissions program, which means additional requirements must be met to enter the program. These requirements are in addition to our admission application. For example, you must have a current Pennsylvania EMT certificate.

Our certificate is designed to lead you directly into the workforce. However, if you wish to continue your education and pursue an associate degree, most of your EMS coursework will count towards the completion of our associate degree in Health Science.

Does HACC offer scholarships?

When can I apply?
We offer classes in the spring, summer and fall. You can apply anytime by visiting our website. When enrolling into our certificate program, you must first enroll in the non-clinical portion of the program. Therefore, please use the pre-EMT paramedic certificate program code 333P on your application to ensure that you apply to the correct program.
