Innovatively YOURS, our professors will prepare you for this rapidly evolving field. Geospatial technology is an industry requiring technicians to be skilled in:

  • data acquisition;
  • management;
  • interpretation;
  • integration;
  • analysis;
  • representation; and
  • graphical display,

Coursework in this program teaches you to be able to work in cross-functional teams with this rapidly evolving employment setting. Our program coursework is aligned with the Geospatial Technology Competency Model (GTCM), which is developed by the U.S. Department of Labor and the GeoTech Center.

As you complete our program, you will:

  • Apply geospatial technology skillsets to analyze spatial questions, patterns, trends, distributions and flow spatially and over time
  • Evaluate, generate, manage, acquire and process geospatial information
  • Query, summarize and analyze spatial and non-spatial data
  • Develop geospatial data, maps and applications using GIS and remote sensing software to describe, visualize and analyze geographic questions
  • Design, manage and implement geospatial projects
  • View summaries of every course at HACC by browsing our class schedules database.
  • Review our program guide (pdf) to view a list of required courses, recommended course sequencing and program competencies.

Affordably YOURS, our two-year degree program is a transfer program. We designed our programs to be flexible enough to transfer to a wide variety of four-year colleges and universities with no loss of credit. If your intended transfer school participates in Pennsylvania’s statewide college credit transfer system, you will be able to begin at the junior level. Our programs also transfer well to schools outside of the statewide system. However, each individual college has its own unique program. We encourage you to select a four-year school as soon as possible. This will allow you to learn the transfer college’s program requirements so you can take the proper classes at HACC.

As a HACC geospatial technology student, your transfer option is:

Shippensburg University of PA: Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies (pdf)

The complete program is available entirely through virtual learning.
