Our Civil Construction Technology certificate prepares you for a variety of employment roles in the area of construction and civil engineering technology.  Mixing classroom, hands-on labs and field work, this certificate gives you an introduction to all parts of the construction processes behind infrastructure projects. These processes include:

  • proper safety practices;
  • horizontal and underground site preparation and development;
  • earth moving;
  • roadway construction;
  • utility and energy installation;
  • connecting water and wastewater systems and;
  • materials production.

The training you receive in our curriculum connects directly to in-demand skills needed by excavating, surveying and construction firms, which may include field work and team projects.

This curriculum is designed to prepare you to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of the civil engineering construction technology field
  • Apply the multiple technical skills needed to complete civil construction projects
  • Build positive workplace skills in safe practices, leadership, project management, teamwork and communication
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of civil engineering construction equipment and technology

Our certificate program is designed to prepare you to enter into the workforce.

 You may complete the certificate at the York Campus through on-campus/in-person instruction.

You can apply for the Civil Construction Technology certificate anytime by submitting your application on our website. We offer classes in the spring, summer and fall. Please include the program code 4186, which is unique to Civil Construction Technology with your application. This code will ensure you apply for the correct program.
