What are your title and main job responsibilities?
I am the integrated marketing communications (IMC) coordinator for strategic design. I review external design pieces (flyers, posters, billboards, digital ads, web pieces, brochures, postcards, etc.) submitted via a communications hub request to ensure the College’s Visual Identity Standards are upheld.

I also oversee the maintenance of the College’s social media accounts and the training of colleagues who manage them.

Last, I work on a couple of large IMC campaigns each year as well as other various requests submitted via the communications hub.

The IMC team is cross-trained. Each coordinator has their own specialties. However, we assist each other and work on similar projects. We are an amazing team!

What inspires you to come to work every day, and why?
Our students and my team inspire me!

I LOVE getting to read our alumni and student stories via the testimonials that we receive from the Story Bank. They are an amazing force and are making great changes in the Central Pennsylvania area and the world.

My team is another amazing force!

I have never worked with a group of individuals who are so professional, ethical, efficient, hard-working, supportive, encouraging, funny and thoughtful. We lift each other up and invest in one another. We give kudos often and truly want the best for one another. You cannot pay for a team like ours. I am grateful!

How do you interact with and engage students and excite them about attending HACC and learning?
I love interacting with our students whenever I can!

There are times when we interview students for marketing materials. We also speak in classrooms with our students when invited by professors and instructors.

In May 2019, I had a student from the York Campus shadow me and another IMC coordinator. We spent the entire day with her, and it was wonderful.

Investing in others is so very important. I have a mentor who has invested in my life. Therefore, I truly love sharing with others.

What is one of your best moments as an employee at HACC?
This is a very tough question. I’ve enjoyed so many moments at HACC.

I would have to say that earning the 2017 President’s Award for my work on the Day of Giving was one of my best moments at HACC.

I also loved working for the Live at Rose Lehrman Artist Series prior to working in the Office of College Advancement at HACC. Through the artist series, we would do a lot of community outreach. Working with the community energized me and brought me joy.

I also love working on various crowdfunding campaigns like #RUN4HACC and the Tour de Dr. Ski. Anytime I can work on projects that help to raise money for our students, I’m excited to do so!

What do you see as your greatest personal achievement?
I am beyond blessed to have an amazing daughter. Therefore, being a mom is my greatest personal achievement.

At HACC, we follow the “family first” philosophy. I am so thankful for that!

My career is very important. However, my work-life balance is even more important. I only get one chance at this life, and my daughter is growing up quickly. I don’t want to miss any part of her life.

Having leaders who encourage me professionally and personally is a great blessing that I do not take for granted.

If you could solve one community or national problem, what might that be?
I would eliminate hate. That is the root of so many issues in our world (racism, suicide and bullying to name just a few). I wish for more love, patience, understanding and empathy for our world.

As you look to the future, what matters most to you?
My daughter is who matters most to me. I want her to grow up with confidence and love.

Navigating this world can be very difficult, and our kids now are dealing with levels of technology that we never had growing up. It is dangerous, and I want to do my best to teach her how to navigate and thrive in life. She will make her own mistakes (as we all do), but loving, teaching and investing in her is my main goal. She is a leader already. She is strong and wise (beyond her years), and there are times where she teaches me. I’m one blessed mom.

My health is also very important to me. I love raising my daughter and helping others. However, I cannot serve from an empty cup. If I do not take care of my personal health, I will be unable to care for others and do my best in my career. Since 2018, I’ve put my health as a priority. In 2019, I started working as a fitness coach.

I want to make a difference in the lives of others. I want others to feel strong and healthy. We will never get another body and another life. Therefore, it is important to take care of the one we’ve been given.

What educational degree(s) have you obtained?
I earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Messiah College.
