HACC Foundation Board Member
How long have you been a part of the HACC Foundation Board?
Which HACC campus location do you represent?
How long have you lived in the area?
Off and on – for the past 40 years. I have lived in other parts of the country and will continue to do so, but I have maintained a residence in the Harrisburg area for 40 years.
Why did you decide to become a member of the HACC Foundation Board?
Without a doubt, I am in debt to HACC for the faith the professors and administrators had in me. Their encouragement made a significant difference in my life. I promised myself that when I had the opportunity I would find a way to support this educational institution. I am grateful to be able to do so now.
What is your professional background, including current employer and position?
I am a retired from Columbia University where I served as the Vice President for Strategic Communications and Construction Business Initiatives and as an Introduction to Negotiation instructor for the School of Professional Students. I will continue to teach at Columbia this Fall for a course I designed in construction, communications and community development. I am also an author. I have published two books and I want to continue writing and publishing.
What do you enjoy the most about being a member of the HACC Foundation Board?
I hope I will enjoy getting to know the Foundation community, promote HACC and encourage more to take advantage of the excellent education and support offered by HACC.
What are your hobbies and interests?
I read, write and cook. I enjoy learning.
