Meet Taqi: International Student who Credits HACC’s Faculty and Classes for his Success

The faculty and the classes were the biggest reason for my success.

Taqi Almuzayn is an international student from Saudi Arabia studying marketing at HACC’s Harrisburg Campus. He received a scholarship from the Saudi Arabian government that guided his choice of college. Taqi credits the HACC faculty and classes as the biggest reason for his success. He said, “The ESL program at HACC was the reason I got a high score on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam.”

Since his arrival at HACC, Taqi has encountered a variety of cultures and languages that he believes have made him more efficient in dealing with a wider segment of people. Without HACC and its diverse environment, he said, “I would not be prepared enough to start working with theSaudi Airlines because of the fact that I am going to deal with a diverse segment of people.”

He credits Jennifer Daley, coordinator for Global Education, for inspiring him from the moment he was hired as a student worker. Taqi said, “She is my supervisor and my advisor and the best academic coach that I have ever had.”

After graduating from HACC, Taqi is thinking about continuing his education in mechanical maintenance and putting his marketing expertise to good use by opening his own business.
