As a first-generation college student, Nevaeh chose HACC because it provided her a quality education close to home, allowing her to focus on advancing her career.
With the support of her family and scholarships from the HACC Foundation, she has overcome the financial challenge of paying for college while working towards her goals as a student in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program.
In addition to her family’s support, Nevaeh found encouragement from her HACC community. She said that one thing people should know about the College is “how helpful the advisors are and how willing they are to go above and beyond.” She added that she was able to ease her nervousness about enrolling and starting classes by taking the advice of her professors and peers.
After graduating from HACC, Nevaeh plans to work as an EMT and gain more patient care experience.
