“HACC allowed me to find a drive to do my best so I can live my life and prosper.”
Mikayla Niemi admitted she was unsteady in high school before she decided to attend HACC. “Once I realized the benefit I essentially planned my life around getting my degree here, and finding a position that’d fill up my time,” she said.
Now, Mikayla is thriving as a college student and making steady progress toward a degree in computer information systems.
After graduating, Mikayla wants to work as a support technician, like her mom. Computer support specialists are in high demand, and the number of available jobs is expected to grow by 11% over the next several years.
She said, “I’d love to be able to find a stable position that I’d be able to grow and learn more about my field. This field is very interesting and is constantly growing which means I’d be able to keep learning as I grow along with my position.”
