Nov. 11, 2025

HARRISBURG, Pa. - HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, has been notified that the Harrisburg Area Community College Education Association (HACCEA) - the union that represents the faculty - has declared that it will strike beginning on Nov. 12, 2025, at 12:01 a.m.

The College is deeply disappointed by this decision, as we believe a strike will directly and negatively impact HACC students who work hard to reach their educational goals and dreams.

As outlined in the College’s statement on Nov. 7, 2025, HACCEA continues to fuel stress and uncertainty for HACC students.

The College looks forward to returning to the bargaining table on Nov. 11, 2025, to reach a contract that is fair, fiscally-responsible, centers student success and aligns with HACC’s core principles:

  1. Prioritizing student success
  2. Supporting the affordability of its offerings
  3. Providing all employees with comparable benefits
  4. Increasing wages for all employees while ensuring fiscal stability, as outlined in the College’s strategic plan
