Cath Lab Orientation will be offered on two Saturdays, Nov. 6 and 20 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. This is a beginner course designed for the cath lab staff person new to the department. The topics have been developed to offer allied health professionals and nurses the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the cath lab.
Disarming Anger for Social Workers will be offered Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 16 and 18, 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. This is the second in the series of HACC's lunch and learn series for those who need continuing education in the social work field.
This program will review the importance of effectively disarming anger. Anger management can help improve overall communication. (Note: This course will not satisfy any court mandated anger management program.)
How to Put it All Together will be offered Tuesday, Nov. 23, 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. This program will review how to put all communication skills together for effective interactions with patients, families and co-workers. Prerequisites include Effective Communication and Disarming Anger.
Claims Filing will be offered on two Thursdays, Dec. 9 and 16, 6-9 p.m.
This course will give the student an understanding of the process for filing claims. A variety of different insurance companies will be included. The differences for processing claims based on the type of insurance will be included, as well as how to read certain forms as part of the daily duties of claims filing.
Designing and Setting Goals will be offered on Monday, Dec. 13, 6-9:05 p.m. How to design and set career goals, the first step to success, will be covered in this session. Students then will be given information about setting specific goals for themselves as students in healthcare.
